Easy for me would be looping through a couple times stacking items to unreasonable amounts (e.g. 50 crowbars 40 watches and a bunch of gas/will o wisp for clear) and then finding the closest boss weakpoint to nuke (or in my case having it pop randomly from something dying because I happened to be in the area).

Getting one or two early on is great, since it lets you deal with enemies like golems way quicker. On the alternate, it does nothing for the reason you described.

Regardless, it isn't the first time some items have been functionally useless for a character. Backup mags for the normal secondary gives you more shots while scoped in before you need to scope out and reload.
