Back to your question - the G19 gen 5 slide will not function on a G19 gen 3 frame. RSA are different (gen 5 - dual, gen 3 - single) - leads to a problem with room at the "nose" end. The gen 4 and 5 Glock slides have a larger recoil spring lug ( round part at front of slide), this will not fit in the frame channel. So, I do not think that combination is possible.You would need to use a gen 5 g17 slide. Which would require modification to the dust cover channel to accommodate the larger nose around the recoil spring. You might be able to get away with a gen 3 g17 slide and a gen 5 g17 barrel to avoid the frame modification…. A simpler solution is to use a gen 3 g19L slide.To convert a G17 to .40, as long as the frame is 3-pin, you need a G22,G24, or G35 slide and barrel of the same Generation as the G17 frame. All you need to do is toss a Gen 5 backplate on a Gen 4 slide and and you are g2g. (I also swapped over and used a Gen 4 slide stop to work with the Gen 4 slide) I put my G19 Gen 4 slide on my G45 and my G26.5 and they ran fine. (Gen 5 back plate) Even locked back with the ambi slide lock lever in the Gen 5 frames.

I’ve not tried putting a 19.3 slide on a 19.5 frame. The issue using a Gen 4 slide on the gen 5 frame is the ambi slide catch release. I read a 19.3 slide will fit a 19.4 frame but the dust cover is larger leaving a gap because of the Gen 4 dual recoil spring is larger than single spring recoil spring on a Gen 3 slide.You can either use a G17 slide with a Gen 5 G17 barrel which will require a longer/special recoil spring assembly if you are using a Gen 1-3 frame. The Gen 5 G17 recoil spring is longer than the Gen 1-4 plus it won't fit in a Gen 3 frame. Or you can cut a G17 frame down to use G19 magazines.
