Make a two wheeled vehicle, with two gyroscopes and a drill on the front. One gyro set to 50% power and set on override 0/0/0 This override will fight to keep the rover from pitching up/down. The second rover at 100% power but no override, this is the one you'll use to actually control pitch/yaw/roll like a normal gyro.

Go up a few feet, auto level, then send pistons down with sensors stopping them 1m away from ground. Then lowwer the rig onto them and should be level.
