In any case, Misty Step doesn't require motion and neither do spells like Dimension Door or Thunder Step. This is by design. Grappling a caster to lock them down is rarely the best idea, but unlike melee characters they can be very effectively controlled with Silence or Blindness (which completely breaks Misty Step).
