This is freshly generated terrain after today's update. Allthemodium, Vibranium, and Unobtainium are all only mineable by hand. All quarries leave them behind, though, so any voiding quarry just leaves them floating there.

Haven't played ATM8 myself, but the deep dark is a vanilla biome. That's the only biome where ancient cities (and the warden) can spawn. According to the modlist Nature's Compass is in the pack which should make locating the biome pretty easy.
