Pretty easy to figure out I assume you bought the relay kit from Deere. Red wire connects to the positive battery cable stud on starter. Black wire is the ground wire connects a good engine ground by the pto clutch. Remove the purple wire from the starter solenoid the relay has two purple wires with male and female connectors.

The terminals on the key switch are not identified like the 317 diagram either. This is confusing the heck out of me as I can't cross reference them between a 318 and a 317. The 317 schematic is simple to understand, but the 318 schematic is crazy complicated. This is a simple lawn tractor, and Mother Deere made it harder than heck to figure out.
