By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. It comes with a Japanese made scope that is Glenfield branded and is very clear. The 336MXLR was also a 24" barrel/1/2 mag tube version of the 336; but in stainless steel, and was chambered in 30/30, 35 Rem. 308 and 338 Marlin Express, 444 Marlin, 45/70, and 450 Marlin.
