The glenfield is a 336 that was marketed by western auto, yes its a very good gun. 30-30 : Helping bad fisherman eat since 1895.Jan 7, 2021 · Hello, this is my JM stamped Glenfield 30A which is basically a Marlin 336 but with a cheaper stock and its in great condition. By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. It comes with a Japanese made scope that is Glenfield branded and is very clear. The 336MXLR was also a 24" barrel/1/2 mag tube version of the 336; but in stainless steel, and was chambered in 30/30, 35 Rem. 308 and 338 Marlin Express, 444 Marlin, 45/70, and 450 Marlin.
