1. Re: Water shoes rental for Narrows. 4 years ago. Save. There is no rental in the park. I use and recommend Zion Adventure Co, they are very near the park. There are several other outfitters but ZAC is always helpful and professional. You can rent the gear the evening before and get an early start.Just to clarify a couple of things. Zion doesn't close because of flash flooding, but the Narrows might. That is only one hike within Zion, there are many other trails you can hike that don't have any issues with flooding. 1. Go to the park early! Zion can be a lovely place in August if you get there early. The first shuttle at the Visitor’s Center is at 6 am and we tried to make it. If you really don't want to give up the third night at Zion, then just book it to Park City directly from Zion. Zion is the most popular national park in Utah and the 3rd most popular in the US. The fact that the shuttle buses are running in May is a good indication of how busy the park will be. It really is the most logical place to stay when visiting Zion because its convenient with lots of places to eat and stay. Basically its right outside the park entrance.
