You can fish just fine in any water tiles, and spear fishing with 0 fishing skill takes a long time, so I recommend starting in the morning and f5 your way to the afternoon. it takes a long time at 0 skill but even at 1 or 2 you'll notice incredible increases. Fishing is very strong and you'll be able to get really fat if you so desire.
