The main purpose of the springlocks is to hold parts out of the way and make space for someone to get into the suit and wear it like a costume. But, assuming that the springlocks in the game work like they do in real life, there's nothing they can do to contribute to the movement or functioning of the animatronics when there's nobody inside.
