I have a 06 Forester w/ 70k and last night shortly after setting my cruise control on a country road at 55mph, cruise shut off on it's own and light started blinking. Then CEL came on. Engine ran fine. After arriving back at the house, I checked all connections to no avail.To be precise, the flashing Subaru cruise control light shows there is a mechanical or electrical problem in your car. The cruise control light should be green and steady when you turn on the system. But if the light is flashing, turn off the cruise control until you address the problem.

The flashing cruise control light is normal with any CEL, it's a safety feature to prevent using the cruise control when there's an active CEL. Hi, My 2013 forester is showing a solid check engine light, solid traction control light, and flashing cruise control light. The car has only 14,000 miles. This problem started yesterday. My husband ran a diagnostic scan for codes and it came up that the #1 cylinder was misfiring.Then the day after the car lost power and the cruise control light started flashing, this time I was able to scan the car and it was P0131 for faulty front a/f or O2 sensor and P0420. Replaced both the front a/f sensor & rear o2 sensor with Denso direct-fits & installed a Stromung hi-flow cat pipe.
