Our child life specialists collaborate with a variety of integrative therapies to bring comfort, opportunities for self-expression, and normalization to increase coping during a hospitalization. Child Life internship. Geisinger also offers a 16-week, 40-hour-per-week, clinic-based internship. Our program is designed for students or graduates with a child life major or a related field who want to enter the child life services profession. People not affiliated with a college or university are also encouraged to apply.Registered dietitians provide nutrition care in both inpatient and outpatient programs. Child & Youth Counsellors. Child life specialists perform some administrative tasks, such as coordinating patient-focused special events, training, and donations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Child life (CL) programs have long been utilized in the inpatient setting to help in relieving the stress and anxiety associated with hospitalization. The objective of this study was to determine the current availability of such programs in pediatric emergency departments (ED) and what interventions were provided in one ED with a CL program.If you would like to find out more about services available through our Child Life Program, please call 407-609-3974.
