Martin Parr is a photographer, editor, curator, collector and a member of the Magnum Photos co-operative. He has published over 80 books of his own work and has also edited another 30. He is currently editing a series of books for Nazraeli press and often does much work to promote new photographers. Previously this has involved being the ... Arts Council of Great Britain. He has published over seventy photobooks of his photographs, including The Non-Conformists (Aperture, 2013), Black Country Stories (2014), and We Love Britain (2014). The MPF collection contains a portfolio of 14 plant pigment master positive prints from Stephen Gill’s series Night Procession, 2014 -2017. The foundation will support and preserve the legacy of photographers who made, and continue to make, important work focused on the british isles.

Martin Parr was born in Epsom, Surrey, UK, in 1952. When he was a boy, his budding interest in the medium of photography was encouraged by his grandfather George Parr, himself a keen amateur photographer. 1970-1973. He studied photography at Manchester Polytechnic along with Peter Fraser, Brian Griffin, Daniel Meadows and Charlie Meecham.
