I took Bromphenir-pseudoephed-DM SYR, e10 mls q 4 hrs for a period of approximately 5 days. This medicine did not help dispel my cough of an upper respiratory viral infection, and every time I did cough, my throat became very painful and sore. Still coughing after last dose. Will be seeking another form of treatment.
What is this medication? BROMPHENIRAMINE; PSEUDOEPHEDRINE; DEXTROMETHORPHAN (brome fen IR a meen; soo doe e FED rin; dex troe meth OR fan) is a combination of an antihistamine, decongestant, and cough suppressant. It is used to treat cough and the symptoms of allergy and colds. This medicine will not treat an infection. Bromfed DM Interactions. Usual Adult Dose for Allergic Rhinitis. 1 to 2 tablets (25 mg-30 mg) or 2 disintegrating tablets (12.5 mg-30 mg) or 10 mL liquid (12.5 mg-30 mg/5 mL) every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Maximum recommended daily dose is 8 tablets or 40 mL. -or-. 1 tablet (25 mg-60 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Maximum recommended daily dose is 4 tablets.
