Talk to Kaathe and he'll let you into the club. BUT, if you place the Lordvessel either by yourself or with Frampt, Kaathe will disown you and you'll no longer be able to offer humanity or buy cracked red eye orbs. You'll still be a Darkwraith, just without the ability to gain ranks until your next playthrough.
After placing the Lordvessel you can do the four Lord souls in any order you wish. I tend to do them in order of what I need most from each area though.
